During the Summer of 2016 I was Challenged by a fellow Photographer to offer Free Portraits to Police and their Families. Kimberly Petty Photography always offers specials to our law enforcement and you may read about these at the tab above labeled giving back then scroll to for our heroes. Included As part of this offer, one free photo Session and a Free Digital Image of choice from the Clients Gallery. I was very happy to accept and honored to meet two wonderful families as part of this special offer during the month of August.
What started as one photographers Idea became a nationwide movement. Many photographers offered these priceless portraits for their local law enforcement as a way to give back.
The post is the first of two. Here are some of my favorites from the M Family. They met me at a beautiful Park in Milton where the Children were very excited to see the ducks and watch their mom get swept off of her feet! I just love the way Mrs. M got creative with this session. Her ideas inspired this shoot!
I grew up in a very small town in eastern Oregon called Nyssa. Its located in the county of Malhuer on the Idaho / Oregon Border about 45 minutes Outside of Boise. I have all my family and longtime friends located in that general area. Mrs. Heather Hert is one of those special friends. She and her three boys came to visit us this past summer and we had an absolutely FANTABULOUSE time together. (Did I express that enough?) I cant tell you how much it means to me to have visitors. I love it!
Heather and I took our families on a Dolphin Cruise on Pensacola Beach and then She and I experienced a very relaxing and well deserved moms weekend out at Wind Creek Casino in Atmore, Alabama. It was complete with spa treatments, a movie, and Dinner.
Other than of course spending time on the most beautiful beach in Florida, The kids also enjoyed going roller Skating, and just hanging out at the pool (thanks to my sweet Husband that helped take care of the little ones and made it so much easier).
During the two weeks she spent here, we may or may not have made many tasty margaritas. So, It was perhaps the most eventful 2 weeks of our summer 2016. We stayed so busy that the only time we had for her family portraits was on the last evening before she was to fly home. It was super windy and believe it or not, a little chilly. Thank goodness for the beautiful sunlight that was literally only available for a matter of seconds which allowed us to capture these sweet portraits.
I am Grateful For our time together. Thank you Heather.
This was a very special vacation for a mother and her three boys from Pilot point Texas. They were experiencing their first time to beautiful Navarre Beach. It was priceless quality time together as they laughed and played and hugged one another.
These are some of my favorites.
Creating Family Photographs for those on Vacation to our most beautiful Beaches is an Honor. I greatly appreciate all that have asked me to help them. There is a Sea Full of wonderful photographers on this beautiful Gulf coast.
I am so grateful to the families who choose to visit me for their business.
The Lindow Family planned an exciting trip this past summer. Mom and Dad were celebrating a Wedding Anniversary so they decided to make it a Romantic Getaway / Family Vacation all in one.
It was a perfect time to document the special moments for a Husband and Wife as well as to Highlight the relationships between four generations of Mothers and Daughters, a fathers love for his baby girls,
and the Love between siblings. These are just some of my favorites from our time together. This first portrait though…. Just so sweet! A classic moment for two sisters.
A Family Reunion on Destin Beach Anyone? How about during the 4th of July Weekend? I would say absolutely Heck Yes to both! Destin is the most perfect location to have a great time! Especially During the 4th of July!
Fair warning though, make plans early! Like super early in advance. It is Crazy fun and Totally Worth it. If you have ever been to Destin Florida on the evening of the 4th of July at precisely 9pm, You know what Im talking about.
If not, trust me.. go… Get any spot on the beach near the Harbor early on the morning of, You will thank me later (when Im making your portraits).
The sweet cousins of the Barnes and Coleman family made those plans this past summer and all twenty-seven of them enjoyed it to the fullest. I have to say I was a bit nervous for the session, as I always am going out to any shoot. I thought it would be my greatest challenge in the very little time we had together that evening. Let me just say…Ugh… I was wrong. So very wrong. Every single one of these individuals displayed a fun and energetic attitude with the willingness and desire for memorable photographs. They made it so incredibly easy for me and It was exactly the recipe for success on this evening! I was super jazzed at the results and they all were as well! These are just some of my favorites from our session. Thank you to Mrs. Barnes for asking me to help with this special occasion for her family.
